Sunday Dinner:

Jerry and Linda are coming over tomorrow evening for dinner. I can't wait. We have not seen them since we first moved into the house.
So here is what is on the menu for dinner:

My new Chicken and Dumpling recipe that is filled with wonderful chunks of chicken, mixed veggies and of course, the wonderful dumplings that everyone has come to love.

We are also making broiled squash with cinammon, butter and nutmeg baked on it.

Linda is bringing a "suprise" veggie dish.

I am making Mint Iced Tea.

And Benji has made a wonderful Andes Mint New York Style Cheesecake. We wrote HI on top of the cheesecake, thinking it would not stay, but it is baking right in. LOL.

So, it is supposed to be ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS outside tomorrow and I can't wait to have dinner company finally. We are still planning the housewarming party, once it warms up, we are going to have everyone over for a BBQ.

Anyhow, aside from thoroughly scrubbing the kitchen this morning and some light housecleaning today, it has been quiet around here. I watched a couple of movies today, did my Math test for tomorrow and began some of my assignments for next week. Eric had a massive headache and severe nosebleed earlier. I put him to bed with a massive dosage of Tylenol and he slept three hours. He felt good enough tonight to make his famous fried chicken, I made the mashed potatoes and we made homemade rolls and corn. I know, a completely starch filled dinner, but it was well worth the time and the mess in the kitchen.
We are about to sit down and watch Superbad, that is if Benji decides to come out of his room long enough to watch it with us, considering it is his movie and all. After that, I plan on sleeping in a bit tomorrow. I am definately not in any rush to wake up at 7a and jump right out of bed. LOL.
Anyhow, I will update more tomorrow after our dinner is over. Happy Saturday Night to everyone.

I am so flipping happy!!!!!! I have my car back and I am so happy. It is running so good and probably even better than it did when I first bought it. YAY! The fire in the hole goes bang. Turns out, we were right on the money. The spark plug in the fourth cyclinder was faulty, which led to misfiring, which led to my car acting like a complete jackass and almost leaving me stranded on several occasions. Good news is, should I get my check, I am on my way to Amarillo in a couple of weekends to see my family and friends. I have been planning what I want to do in my short weekend. Tonya, if you can get away, you should come with me. I think it could be fun to road trip since we have not done that in quite some time.
Anyhow, off to do whatever the hell I want to do since the kids are in bed and my apartment is semi-clean, save my bedroom. :) That is on tomorrow's list and Monday, I start my new position with NEW. I can't wait.

BTW-Two must see movies----Firehouse Dog(completely adorable if you like dogs) and Premonition. That movie was a tear jerker and will keep you guessing right up until the very end.

Fire in the Hole

Have I mentioned how much I hate having car problems?

There is fire in the hole and it ain't pretty. We have only had our Focus for a month. One month people. Granted, it is used, but it does not look used. It looks almost like showroom quality. That is how well it has been taken care of by previous owners. Until you take into consideration that they have probably used the lowest octane fuel recently because of how HIGH the gas prices are. Anyhow, back to my woe befolds me tale of fire in the hole.

I had driven the car to Graham about three weeks ago. I had not seen Tonya, Mom or Richard for about six months and it was time for a visit. I loaded up my Quinlanboo and we took off on a mommy-son weekender. So we thought it was a weekender. We get six miles outside of Graham when my vehicle starts to chug and act like it is losing power. Nevermind you that a huge semi-asshole was on my tail and almost hit my vehicle when I had to pull over.

So I pulled over on the shoulder, six miles outside of Graham, on a ninety degree day, with hundreds of assholes passing a mother and son by without offering help and throw my Hazards on. I pick up my cell phone and shakily call my husband. He is FURIOUS! So I hang up with him so he can call the insurance company for free towing and call my auto dealer. I spoke with the office manager and she put me in touch with the owner. I love Ron, I do, but we really need to put two and two together to figure this crap out. He tells me that he can get me a tow back into Wichita Falls but that it would take over an hour for this to happen. OH HELL TO THE BLEEP NO! I don't think so. Not for a minute am I going to sit on the side of the road with semi-assholes driving past me doing eighty and having to listen to poor Quin scream in the back like he is dying. Not Happening!

So.......I call Eric again and I tell him that I am going to make like a Grandma and idle it into town. It is only 8 miles from where I am sitting to Tonya's house, so no worries, right? Well...I make it, after pulling over the the gas station with my hazard lights still on and I still make it after getting WTF eyes from a guy wearing a beanie. Anyhow, I opt not to drive it anymore than I have too because I would like to make it back home.

The next day, Tonya is gracious enough to drive me to Windthorst to meet up with Eric so he can get Quinlan. It looks like my weekender has turned into a weeker. I am not worried. Tonya and I usually have a great time when I am up there visiting.

We get back to Graham and we hear from Ron that he is sending someone to get my car. I am thinking that this will happen that same day. No such luck.

While in the E.R. on Sunday amid a massive asthma attack(Thanks Mollie and Abby), Mom calls the E.R. and tells Tonya that they are picking up my car right then and taking it back to Wichita Falls. Ok by me! SO I think!

By Wednesday, the vehicle is back in Eric's possession again and I beg him to come and get me. To no fault of Mom and Tonya because I really had a great time. Duty calls back home though and I had a bunch of laundry and other things that needed to get done. So he comes to get me and the car is fine, Great actually. Until we get just past Scotland. The car starts minor chugging and we really don't think anything of it because it is not as bad as it was.

So we get home, drive the vehicle some more during the week and weekend. Come Monday, it was acting alot worse so we took the vehicle back to the same mechanic. The same mechanic looks at me like I am a dipshit and says I can leave the keys in the car, he will get to it when he can.

We get the car back on Thursday last week and I am super happy. It is running great. Until Sunday.

Chug, Chug, Chug, I think I can, I think I can, I know I can, I know I can. Ok, we can get over it, let's put some high octane gas in it. Along with a gas treatment and fuel injector cleaner. Yay, my car is back.

Monday, chug, chug, drive great.

Tuesday, chug, chug, chug, drive great, chug.

Wed, today, chug, chug, kurplunk, chug, chug, kurplunk, engine light on, chug, chug, WoahLA!!!! Problem found. Cylinder 4 is misfiring. Problem causing could be the converter, bad fuel, dirty spark plugs, fuel injector or plan and simple, clogged filters.

So guess where my car is going back to tomorrow????

DING, DING, DING...what have you won? It is going back to the mechanic. And I am going to be breathing down his neck with my red haired temper at bay. You don't mess with the people preparing your food and you don't mess with people taking care of your car.

One moment I mean everything I have to say to him and the next moment I am wanting to erase all my hurtful words. I am rebounding. Ok, to start simple here before I get to some really, really, upsetting, depressing news, Here is a OMG story.

Quinlan Boo had a HORRIBLE, ODOR EATER NEEDING, KNOCK YOU FLAT ON YOUR BUTT, WILL BRING A SWEAT TO YOUR BROW type of Diaper. I simply asked Keegan if he has seen the wipes. Here is the conversation in Carie terms, actually as it happened for those of you who know me.
ME: "KEEGAN HONEY, WHERE ARE THE WIPES AT PLEASE?"
KEEGAN: "MOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, THEY ARE HERE IN THE LIVING ROOM! YOU STUPID LITTLE BITCH!"
ME: "EEEEEEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXCCCCCCCCCCUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEE ME?
KEEGAN: "NO MOMMY, I AM SORRY MOMMY, DON'T CALL DADDY MOMMY, I DIDN'T MEAN IT MOMMY, I WANT U MOMMY."

KEEGAN SNEAKS OUT OF HIS ROOM AND GOES BACK OUTSIDE AS I AM TYPING THIS.

ERIC GOES OUT THE FRONT DOOR AND PUTS HIM ON HIS BED AND SHUTS HIS DOOR.

KEEGAN OPENS HIS DOOR AND CONTINUES TO SCREAM.

KEEGAN HAS NOT STOPPED. NOW ONE TO MORE ISSUES.

Some major changes are coming to the Burton Household. Changes that I have finally come to terms with and changes that I have finally decided have to happen, for the better.

Eric and I are seperating. Plain and simple, this is not working anymore. This was my decision and one that was not made lightly. This is incredibly hard, I don't even know where to begin now, but it had to happen.
Plain and simple, I am not happy anymore. Eric is trying, trying so hard, to make it up to me. He is trying to prove to me that he loves me and wants our marriage to work. It is not working. I have been living in a lie for the past several years, believing he can and will change and I can't let things go. I can't let it go. I can't trust him, I don't think I will ever trust him and plain and simple, I deserve to be happy. I need my life back, I need my happiness back. Strangely enough the one thing I am worried about is hurting him. I am not hurting for myself because I am starting to see Bryan Ray again(my counselor)and he is going to help me through some issues and help me to come to terms with some things in my life.
I told Eric this morning that I want to seperate. He told me that I knew what seperation will lead to and I told him I already knew that, but it has to be done. I am not happy, I don't think I will ever be happy with him again and that I am not doing us any good by staying here and living a lie. Plain and simple, this will be better. I love him, I really love him and yes, I am scared of what the future holds for me and if I will ever find happiness. I am scared to be alone, but I have to do this. But I am not in love with him anymore. I love him as a friend and as a security for the kids and for the father he is to them, but I am not in love with him as a husband anymore. I think that is the most hurtful part of all this that I have fallen out of love with my husband. Something that I never thought I would do. Step by step I am going to be looking for new employement in either Amarillo or Graham and I am going to be looking for my own place too. I am still going to carry the children on my insurance until Eric is able to get a job and insurance and then I am dropping them so I can bring in more money to help with child support. They are going to live with him, partly because of the security he brings them and is is a much better father to them right now than I am a mother because simply, I am being selfish in trying to find my happiness again and I don't want to hurt my children by not being emotionally supportive to them like the deserve and need. I inserted this portion of the blog into my myspace account as a diary because of how troubling this dream was, but needless to say I dreamt about an old flame and it stirred feelings inside of me that have been dormant a long long time and now I feel guilty. Mainly because I am not so happy in my marriage anymore and mainly because I miss being able to go, go, go and not have to answer to anyone or make excuses as to why I am having a bad day. Plain and simple, the dream depressed me and hurt me and made me feel unfaithful both emotionally and soulfully to my mate. We are going on a triple date tonight, I will sit beside my man and hold his hand and have those feelings stir inside me again. We will come home, hold one another and with any luck, make love like we have not done since we first got married. Sure we have sex, but I am longing for the soul combining, heated passion of two lovers who find their way home again. I miss that. I must go and get ready, I will update more later.

Long Time

No post. What was I thinking staying away from this place for so long? :) I see alot has been going on.
Quinlan is breaking................... 4 MOLARS now!! Can you believe it, I can't. My baby is getting to be a big boy now. He gave me a lovely suprise when I stuck my finger in his mouth to check around, A BIG FAT BITE MARK on my index finger. But it was well worth it to check his little toothies.

I have determined that people need a freaking IQ test before they even attempt to get cell phone service.
1st part of test--Do you know how to turn a cell phone on?
2nd part of test--Can you dial a freaking number?
3rd part of test--Does your momma know you look at things like that from your phone?
4th part of test--Of course you called all those 900 numbers and sent all those text messages after you logged onto the internet and searched for available numbers to bother. I sure as hell did not get up in the middle of the night, fly two thousand miles, break and enter into your home, turn your phone on because I know how and do all that stuff. That is a freakin waste of my time to get a call like that, ya know?
I got a call from some whiney young person who was made because we would not give him a credit on all the international calls he placed because they were valid charges. He told me that it was not fair that he could not call over to China and talk for hours at a time and only use regular airtime. UH HELLO dumb ass, it is almost the same as placing a long distance phone call when you don't have long distance to use. You GET charged!!! Good grief. Again, I state my point. Don't get me wrong, I love my job. But stop playing the system, stop doing stupid stuff and stop asking stupid questions because I am texan and will reply with a stupid answer. LOL.

On another note, I get to see my daddy in a week. I am so excited. He is coming up for business and wants to take us out for dinner and spend an evening with us. I cannot wait to see him. I never realize how much I miss home until I hear his voice or my sister's voice.

I earned four out of five oinks tonight when I ate my pregnancy weight in Tacos and Queso. What can I say, I am a Mexican food freak.
Needless to say, Eric may have to sleep on the couch tonight in case my flatulence sends him skyrocketing out of bed. At least right now I am in a position to blame it on the baby, right??? He seems to be the one yanking the cord begging for more food. I just wonder what it will be like once he is born and I can't blame him anymore when I out eat my weight in ice cream. LOL.

I'm trying to keep my eyes open to ring in the New Year, honestly I am. I never knew I could feel this old being this young. Where did all my fun times go?? I used to be up with the best of them, drunker than a skunk, banging into furniture while ringing in the New Year. Not anymore!! Kids are in bed asleep, their tummies full, visions of the New Year dancing in their heads. Me, full belly, baby begging to come out and play because my stomach has made him more uncomfortable than I am. Eric, interested in his Playstation game and his Boondocks show on Cartoon Network. So yes, we are a very interesting bunch of people, everyone wants to be around us this New Year.
